Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest continuously occupied castle in the world, and has been the home of English monarchs for over 100 years. This lecture traces the development of the castle from an 11th century fortress into a magnificent palace and illustrates how it has been enlarged assn rebuilt, focussing in particular on the four monarchs whose reign have been seminal periods in the castles development –  Edward III, Charles II, George IV and Queen Elizabeth II.
